GLT have a long history and tradition of collaboration with our colleagues at the Edinburgh Centre for Legal Theory. In the spirit of this tradition we have, with our Edinburgh-based counterparts, launched a number shared research initiatives which seek to advance the productive and fruitful relationship between the two research groups.
Disputationes

Originally devised by GLT's George Pavlakos, Disputationes is an annual event that brings together PhD students and lecturers in legal theory from Glasgow and Edinburgh for lively discussion and debate.
Drawing on their research, students give short paper presentations followed by animated discussions with their peers and teachers. Discussions are followed by a social event to give students the opportunity to get to know one and other and their respective research projects. Disputationes 2023 was held at the University of Glasgow, where we were joined by students and staff from Edinburgh and the University of Surrey. |

Book Forum
The Book Forum is an annual event that brings together researchers to provide an opportunity to explore a single significant work in Legal Theory. It is intended that books discussed will be those that have been particularly formative to our researchers' thinking.
The Book Forum takes place in Spring, at the University of Glasgow, with one speaker from Glasgow, one from Edinburgh and two additional external speakers - presentations are followed by an open discussion amongst participants.
The Book Forum is open to all interested colleagues and postgraduate researchers in Legal Theory.

The Legal Theory Workshop
The Legal Theory Workshop is a high-profile workshop, co-coordinated by GLT and the Edinburgh Centre for Legal Theory. Held annually, it brings together researchers from both research groups and international colleagues to discuss important issues in jurisprudence.
